My name is Jenny Messer, I set up Equis Sports Massage in 2011 to treat both equine and human athletes. I am based in North West Kent and cover the whole of the county and surrounding areas. I have a keen interest in a wide variety of sports; with a real passion for all things equestrian. Having ridden since the age of four nothing makes me happier than being around horses. My chosen discipline is dressage and I have trained my own horse to Advanced Medium Level.
I graduated from Hadlow College in 2008 with a 2:1 BSc (hons) in Equine Management where I developed a particular interest in the biomechanics of the horse and development of the horses musculature through correct training.
In 2010 I completed my ITEC qualification in Human Holistic Massage allowing me to study for an ITEC Equine Sports Massage with Mary Bromiley MBE at her farm in Exmoor. In 2012 I then completed my VTCT Level 4 qualification in Human Sports Massage enabling me to address specific injuries common among horse riders and other athletes.
Continuing with my own professional development I completed the Equinology Advanced Equine Bodyworker course and externship through Writtle College in July 2016. The completion of this course means that I can now offer many additional soft tissue techniques, myofascial release, spinal mobilisation and core activation approaches which are essential in maintaining peak performance and developing strength and suppleness during rehabilitation.
